Hoist the main!
Today, for the first time in over a year, the main sail saw the light of day. We hosted her up the mast for a few minutes, then lowered and stacked her across the boom. The Red Witch definitely looks like a sail boat now.
Boom On!
Yesterday we attached the infamous boom to the mast. We had been waiting a while to get the gooseneck rebuilt (the old one had a crack), so finally getting the boom on the boat seems like a huge step towards getting the boat ready for sail.
Dry Docked in Sooke
We currently have the Red Witch dry docked in Sooke, BC while we repair the decks and complete a few other jobs. We plan on putting the Red Witch back into the water in the fall. We are fixing up and outfitting the Red Witch with equipment for a ~year long journey down the pacific coast and beyond.
